[EDIT: Dec 26 2017] Merry Christmas / Happy Holidays! 🙂
I’m in the middle of the last scene of STM 2.08(B), which is quite probably one of the most challenging scenes I’ve filmed.**
The latest [preview screenshot] may not look like much, but the context will be apparent once the episode airs, or perhaps if you consider it in relation to previous preview shots.
As the overall completion is about 70-75% today, if you don’t see the completed show on Jan 1 2018, then I probably need slightly more time.
**Most challenging scene since the PVCS vs STM screenshots. Simmers who may not have much affinity towards football may instead appreciate the PVCS story and screenshots for their “impossibility” in terms of animation logistics, and the sheer number of sims to keep track of 😮
After all, that PVCS tale was not created ONLY for the sake of football, but also to for the challenge of using the sims game engine to tell a story that is “unusual” beyond traditional gameplay limits. The whole point of such tales, and machinima, is to bend and stretch the sims sandbox beyond its typical potential.
[EDIT: Dec 18 2017] STM 2.08(B) overall completion: 55-60%. Finally done with the second scene, but I have no new screenshots now that are non-spoilers. It’s time to start on the next scene.
As mentioned earlier, there’s still a possibility of some “magic” over the Christmas period, that may result in me finishing everything around the New Year… 😮
[EDIT: Dec 15 2017] Bad news: Progress on STM has been slow over these two weeks.
Good news: There is a possibility of more free time opening up for me around the Christmas period, so there may even be a chance of me completing the entire episode by the dawning of 2018. 🙂
Other news: I have officially joined the SimsVIP Discord Server. (As I have limited time, I need to be selective about the number of servers I choose to be a part of.)
– So (simmers who have a genuine interest in my tales) who wish to connect with me via Discord, you know which is the right server to find me (the one owned by SimsVIP).
Once again, thank you to all simmers who have a sincere interest in my stories, for checking my updates and staying subscribed 🙂
[EDIT: Dec 2 2017] It’s been almost 3 years since I’ve changed the skins for my blogs, [StrangeTown Monty] and this AldoHyde blog (that you’re now reading). So I’ve picked a theme with a more “responsive” design that adapts even better to both desktop and mobile than my previous theme.
As a result, most of the polls and other widgets are now at the bottom of all my pages and posts (instead of their previous location on the desktop sidebar), so please scroll down to see all of those 😛
[EDIT: Dec 1 2017] No new screenshots today, but I am still editing everything I’ve already filmed – about 45% overall completion. I’m going through a tough period at the moment, so do understand why it’s even harder than usual to get the right moodlets to do STM these days
[EDIT: Nov 18 2017] Started filming the major plot. Here’s a [preview screenshot]. Overall completion: approximately 35%.
Let’s recap the focus of this show:
Main Plot (at least 50% of airtime): The Strangetown and Veronaville premade characters’ brush with Hyde Dynamic Fringe Science. Addressed every episode.
Subplot 1 (approx 30-33% of airtime): Specter Yard Adventures – magic vs science. Addressed at least once every 2 episodes.
Subplot 2 (approx 17-20% of airtime): Jane Doe Case. In the past, I used to update this plot only once every few episodes.
But now, I’ve restructured the later episodes, such that a “thin slice” of this plot is addressed in almost every episode. So please be aware that the trade-off of having the Jane Doe scenes in almost every episode is that each update is significantly shorter.
After all, this show is called “StrangeTown Monty”, not “Strangetown Goth” and certainly not “Strangetown MoRty” 😉
[EDIT: Nov 14 2017] Original versions vs their STM makeovers, for 7 characters: Bianca, Antonio, Kent, Vidcund, Nervous/Nick, Ajay and Erin. I added these “before and after” pics to their relevant sections on the [STM Characters] page.
I haven’t had time to do much about the next STM episode during this period, but I have not forgotten about it. I know I say this a lot, but also remember that despite that, I’ve completed a lot over the years.
[EDIT: Oct 22 2017] I’ve started on the Jane Doe / Bella Goth scene, which isn’t the chronologically first scene in the episode. It wasn’t easy to select a preview screenshot which doesn’t contain spoilers, but [here is the one I decided on].
Partitioning the Jane Doe subplot over multiple episodes was one of the biggest reasons WHY I took so long to revise the scripts from 2.08(A) onwards.
With this, 2.08(B) is about 15-20% complete. My target is late December 2017 to early January 2018, but there is always a possibility that I may finish earlier. Thank you for checking my updates and staying subscribed! 😉
[EDIT: Oct 20 2017] It’s been a while. I was mostly busy with RL stuff, but I had also been working on the sets for 2.08(B). One episode every few months is the most I can manage, given how intricate this task is, and the fact that I also do other things during my limited leisure time.
My true fans would understand this, and appreciate lots more about the show than the relatively minor Jane Doe plot While this plot will indeed be addressed in the subsequent episodes, I’m looking forward more to the resolution of the main plots of the Veronaville natives in Strangetown, and the increasingly bizarre issues in Specter Yard 😉

While I finalize some set details for the new episode, before filming may start…
Here is a 100% NEW page for all [StrangeTown Monty Characters].
Freshly-written relatively extensive paragraphs, completely new pictures. Can be read regardless of the episode you’ve last watched. Enjoy! 🙂
For those of you who’ve already watched the previous episode STM 2.08(A), please remember to [VOTE on your guess about the “new baby”], and to [take the Sims Quizzes] on various canon and STM-related topics.
